Amazing burgers and great beer selection. Favorites are ‘The Burger’ and the Lamb burger. They also make a killer BLT. The fries come served up like a stack of Jenga blocks! Hard to resist the gelato – even after stuffing myself with burgers and beer. Staff is always friendly.
This place makes me happy. There's just something about a really good root beer float. I'm a root beer float purist, so I was doubtful when I saw the ice cream selection with not a single vanilla option in sight. I love the Scoops ice cream they serve, but I just wasn't sold on the idea of wacky Scoops ice cream flavors in floats. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I enjoyed the vaguely caramel flavor and the slight crunch the brown bread ice cream gave to their float. And the root beer they use for their floats is exceptional!I had and enjoyed the food as well, but to be honest, I don't remember the details. But that root beer float may the best float I've ever had.
I find this place more endearing each time I go. It's starting to become a regular place in the rotation due to the fact that the staff is so legit and cool - plus the food is top-notch for a burger joint. I don't eat meat but they always honor my requests to turn the muffuletta into a grilled cheese and it's totally off the hook! They have a great beer and wine selection which has been lovingly crafted by the owner and staff - just ask them about what to pair with what and you'll get an earfull! Also, the sweet potato fries are tasty and I love the 'Jenga' style presentation! This place is great for a Friday night or early Saturday night supper. Tip: for dessert, get the buttered brown bread gelato....you won't be dissappointed!
Been to Golden State a few times now and I love this place! I don't eat beef or chicken, but they have a great Tuna salad sandwich. I even asked them to make me a grilled cheese once, (muffalta, hold the ham) and they were more than happy to oblige! I also love their beer list - which is totally handpicked by the owner and staff. The vibe is pretty mellow and low-key - great for a Friday night or Saturday evening dinner. The sweet potato fries with aöli are extra awesome!
