I asked for half salad and half rice they charged me $3.00 more and guy how bring my bill was very rude.

This place is a bit of a hike from my office, but the food is excellent. I have had Persian food from Darya in Costa Mesa, small shops all around LA and OC and from some of my Persian clients. This food is pretty darn good and the prices are reasonable. If you are not too hungry you can have a half order. I have had the chicken and salmon kabob. Both are excellent. I have also ordered the tadiq on the side. I LOVE TADIQ!. My client's wife used to make it for me when I would go to their house. Having grown up in Hawaii all you get is the more sticky rice, tadiq and basmati rice are refreshing. I like paella so the saffron in the tadiq is very appealing to me. The appetizers are good also. I usually go with some co-workers and we share pickles and hummus.

I recently attended a five week training class at AT&T in downtown Los Angeles. Unfamiliar with the area, I decided to walked a few blocks down HIll Street in hopes of finding a good restaurant for lunch. I found Shekarchi Restuarant on the corner of Ninth and Hill and was greeted by the manager, Alex, at the door who immediately knew I was a first time visitor to this resturant. Alex immediately seated me and made me feel so welcomed. I ordered the lunch for two kabobs and their Barberry rice and was so amazed of the quality of food preparation and flavors not to mention their reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys excellent Persian Cuisine.
