I know so many people who love this hiking trail, and while I admit that it's conveniently located and a good "challenging-but-short" hike to fit into your day, the limited parking and smell of dog pee near the entrance to the trail is a big turn-off.
Great now it's open again. Very LA thing to do is go to run/walk Runyon canyon and then go to breakfast ( the best part). Can get hot in summer!
Whenever I have friends or family coming to visit me in the city, I like to take them to Runyon Canyon Park. Not only we can get a great view of the city from here, but also we can have a decent workout. It is also a great date spot! However, it is not an ideal place for doing meditation.
I am kind of a crazy dog person in that I am crazy about dogs, my dog specifically, not crazy in general. I tell him how handsome he is about thirty two times a day and buy him giant cow bones from the italian market and tell him "Go, claim your ancestry. Gnaw and get that marrow in you so that you may not take notice that you are but a resplendent shadow of your former wolfish splendor." (He = siberian husky).
