I paid legalzoom $1500.00 for a service they are not even qualified to manage.

On 01/20/2009 at 11:13 am I recieved a response from LZ and in the first paragraph of LEGALZOOMS response to in my attempt to resolve this issue . as the following I have Quoted.

" The main reason we cannot assist with the illistration office action is due to the recent changes with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Back on 08/23/08. Due to this change it has made several of our patent processes invalid including any design patent assessment. They've made it more complicated for document services like us to provide the patent services."



In the above statement said by LZ they admitted that there services are no longer accepted they charged me for services that even the United States Patent and Trademark Office has determined are "INVALID" Therefore I do believe that they did charge me for a service that the were not capable of providing .

Then When they submitted my application they listed an investor as an Inventor , which they claimed to have ammeded the application error, However according to the response from USPTO that issue has not yet been ammended.

I was not advised by LEGALZOOM to contact a patent attorney UNTIL AFTER after my application had been denied. I feel that if they were going to advise me to do so it should of been before I paid them for a service that they advertise about being able to do, But when I did take there advise and speak with a patent attorney I was told that I would be better off Filing a whole new application because legalzoom seems to only make a mess out of patent applications.
