I went to Target Optical for an eye exam a few years ago & again a few weeks ago since they accept our insurance. There was a new Optician & when I told her that the previous Optician did not dilate my pupils for the exam she said he should have. She completed the exam and in conclusion told me I had a "small hole in my retina" and was told not to worry about it unless I get floaters or other issues. I asked for a referral and when I called the Eye Care Center they told me to come in right away & this was a serious problem that should be seen right away to avoid a possible surgery. I went in and had a series of tests and images taken of both eyes. I was given the good news that it was "not a hole in my retina" -- not a hole at all. The Retinal Specialist showed me on the big screen that it is a tiny dot that has probably been there since birth & not a problem at all. In the future I will not go to Target for my vision & don't appreciate the stress her misdiagnosis caused me.
