- Dental ExaminationThis is one of the most important parts of any dental examination, as X-Rays can help diagnose cavities or other problems which exist around the foundation of the teeth or under the surface of your gums. Our dentist will ask you to gently close the teeth together onto a plastic or paper tab while the film is in your mouth. The films from this procedure will provide you and your dentist with a more complete analysis of each tooth’s condition. Hover Dental Group is proud to offer Digital X-Rays which emit less than 20% of the radiation of traditional dental X-Rays. We also offer Panoramic X-Rays which allow for a more comprehensive analysis of your jaw and TMJ.
- X-raysYour first appointment involves a discussion of your health history. Our dentists will clean your teeth and check for cavities and gum disease. We evaluate your risk for developing oral health problems and may conduct dental x-rays or other diagnostic procedures.

- CrownsThere are a number of factors that can stress and damage the TMJ. For example: Bruxism, or teeth grinding as it is more commonly known, not only stresses the joint but can also cause wear on the teeth which in turn can lead to one’s bite becoming imbalanced. This can also happen in patients over the age of 40 who may suffer a change in bite height through years of wear and tear. Trauma to the jaw, misalignment of tooth and jaw surfaces due to defective crowns, problems with braces or other dental work, arthritis, and even simple genetics can also contribute to or cause various types of TMJ disorder.

- Restorative DentistryRestorative dentistry is the study, diagnosis, and treatment of teeth and supporting structures and the repair of functional and aesthetic health. For instance, if you have a cavity, Hover Dental Group in Longmont may recommend a filling. If left untreated, a cavity can result in pain, headaches, bone loss, and gum related infections. In many cases it is possible to use a type of filling that can be matched to the brightness and tone of your teeth, which in turn provides our patients with a treatment that not only solves their health issue, but also does it in a way that is unnoticeable.
- Root Canal TreatmentPorcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays can provide extra restorative strength for teeth which may be chipped, cracked, or otherwise abnormal. We also offer root canal therapy, which is a process that removes damaged or infected nerve and clears and seals it’s pathway to prevent further infection. This process can save teeth that might otherwise have been lost!
- DenturesAre you missing teeth? Hover Dental Group in Longmont offers dental implants, which are prosthetic replacements for missing or damaged teeth, and can be indistinguishable from a normal tooth. They offer a permanent solution to missing teeth and are cared for through normal brushing and flossing, as opposed to dentures which need to be removed for maintenance. The “root” portion of the dental implant is a metal screw which forms the root. The exposed portion (above the gum-line) supports the prosthetic replacement tooth. Once your new artificial root is placed, a prosthetic denture or tooth can be placed onto the artificial root to replace the natural crown of the tooth.
