These shavings are BEST shavings available for horse stall bedding! I have used this brand for many years, but our local feed store quit carrying them, so I had to use either the big blue (JT Shavings)that were always wet right outta the bag, or the American Choice Shavings for years. Long Beach Shavings have a wonderful aroma of redwood (or cedar?) and are packaged in very tightly compressed bags. They are bone dry, unlike the JT shavings! The shavings are a bit thicker and larger than the Americas's Choice, therefore, they don't blow away or get ground up into dust particles very fast. I like to use the America's Choice for the back of the horse's corrals for their "urine pots", as it absorbs super well. The horses LOVE it when I open up a new bag of Long Beach Shavings in their stalls! Two large bags will really fluff out and fill a stall with a nice, aromatic, DRY bed that lasts and lasts! I was very happy when I found another store that sells them...it's worth the extra miles!
