Jefferson Leadership Academies is an educational institution that is governed by the Long Beach Unified School District, which serves more than 90,000 students through over 90 elementary, middle and high schools. The school enrolls students in grades six through eight. Its staff includes psychologists, community workers, academic directors, nurses, guidance counselors, program facilitators, and media and intervention specialists. The school provides education in math, science, history and English. Jefferson Leadership Academies also conducts classes in journalism, health education and computer applications. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities that includes art, music, physical education, band and orchestra. Jefferson Leadership Academies, located in Long Beach, Calif., additionally organizes several musical concerts and field trips to educational destinations.
