Garfield Elementary School is governed by the Long Beach Unified School District and is located in Long Beach, Calif. The school offers educational services to more than 1,000 students from kindergarten through grade five. It operates the Garfield Academy of Professional Development, which provides training to teachers, administrators and support staff. The school has a faculty of approximately 50 full-time certified teachers that includes an academic counselor, media and hearing specialist, school nurse, and speech and language pathologist. It teaches a variety of subjects, such as math, writing, English, language arts, history, science, social studies, music, art, and physical and special education. Garfield Elementary School s facility includes over 50 classrooms, a computer lab, playground, cafeteria, amphitheater, and art and music room.
