Same thing happened to me regarding staples ruining clothing items. Even if you’re very careful (I bent the prongs of the staple open carefully then removed it), two holes are left in the fabric. Not too big of a deal with thicker fabrics, but a very big deal with the thinner ones. So if stapling is actually a national policy, quick solution would be to staple the price tag to a preexisting tag on the garment as other thrift stores do. Give your customers a break.

I recently made a purchase (my first ever) and got the items home only to discover that they were ruined by the staples that attached the tags. I called and was informed that they do not accept returns nor do they conduct exchanges. I suggested an alternative method for attaching the tags and was told that "using staples is national policy." They are ruining items for the consumer and ruining items that are being donated. I will no longer be shopping at or donating to the Salvation Army. Please consider doing the same. Your donations would be a better asset to another organization.
