Over two years ago (07/12), I took my '65 Mustang in to this AAMCO because of transmission shifting problems. Diagnosis revealed a broken band. Considering the age of the car, I decided to have the entire transmission rebuilt, including a new shift kit. I was told the repair would take a little longer than usual because their "C4 expert" was out of town. When I finally received the car back, the shifting problem was solved, but the transmission started leaking, mostly after the car sat still for long periods. I have since taken the car back to this location four more times since the initial repair to address the leaking. Until this last trip in, they had never charged me for the follow-up repairs. Since I only put about 500 miles per year on this car, I usually tell them to take their time on the repair and get it right. This is a mistake, because every time, it takes several weeks for completion. I realize that with warranty work they want to work it in when it's convenient, but for a supposedly easy leak, weeks is a bit extreme. This last time in to fix the same leak issue, they just happened to find other things wrong that needed to be addressed; which didn't really make any sense, since I initially paid for a complete rebuild. Nothing else was wrong with the drivetrain when I originally took the car in, and I've put less than 700 miles on since.

To wrap this up, the car has been sitting in the garage, undriven since the day I brought it home from AAMCO a few months ago. Yesterday (11/06/14), I was going to winterize the car and cover it for the winter, and noticed a nice large (3 ft diameter) puddle of transmission fluid under the car. So, two years and five trips to the shop later, the car still leaks (a lot), and I'm no closer to being able to confidently drive this car than I was two years ago. These are nice guys, but I seriously question their abilities.
