I began playing drums in the 6th grade band program at Fort Smith Christian School, and from there I never really stopped. There was nothing else. I practiced all the time; before school, in the car, during lunch, during math class, after school, right before bed, like this every day for about 8 years. When I hit college as a music major I began to study classical voice, guitar, and piano- but eventually I was forced to practice things I couldn't connect with, so I switched my degree to Business Administration and from then on practiced only what I loved.
