Custom Speakers As you will see on our website, our speaker designs speak for themselves...literally thinking and building “out of the box.” We operate from an “ideal” standpoint—merging ideal acoustics and aesthetics to create uniquely individualized speaker systems. Combining the construction concepts of non-parallel walls, time alignment and high defraction-loss architecture, our speakers take on not just a new world of unbridled sound, but a look that turns an ordinary speaker into functional art work. Repair Service Our in house repair shop is incredibly well stocked with replacement parts and service information. Estimates are given within 1-2 days and are always free. 24-hour emergency service and local pickup and delivery are available for most equipment for an additional charge. Our customers find that shipping their equipment to us from almost anywhere is still the most cost effective way to guarantee an honest evaluation and the highest quality service. Modifications/Upgrades Modifying and upgrading existing audio equipment can be an extremely cost effective and sonically gratifying solution to improving almost any sound system. SGCS takes famous maker speaker cross-overs for both commercial P.A. systems as well as high-end home systems and redesigns them from scratch, improving frequency and transient response, power handling, transparency, overall parts quality and physical durability. Audio path and power supply upgrades are available for pre-amps, poweramps, electronic cross-overs, recording and P.A. consoles. These include replacing existing parts with: HexFred and Shottky ultra fast recovery diode Panasonic and Black Gate Power supply capacitors Precision Metal Film resistors from Vishay, Caddok and Halco Ultra fast and musical op-amps from Linear Technologies, Burr Brown, Analog Devices and others An almost unlimited range of film capacitors for the audio path Adding anti-vibration and anti-oxidation materia Installation/Design Support For 13 years, we have designed and installed the Patch Bays and audio wiring harnesses for many recording studios, club and mobile P.A. and D.J. systems and some very elaborate high-end home systems. Many times, larger installation companies will subcontract us to correct existing design flaws, troubleshoot failures or simply consult on a new system design. In the shop we can prewire ¼-inch or Bantam Patch Bays with individual cut-to-length shakes terminated according to your equipment list. Star grounding schemes can be installed to reduce the noise floor to its absolute minimum. Custom Electronics When you need a piece of gear to do a certain thing and nobody makes it... Call us. We build switching boxes that move line level, speaker level and video signals from anywhere to anywhere at the touch of a button. We also build active and passive pre-amps, cross-overs, poweramps (both solid state and tube), power supplies, stepped attenuators in almost any configuration and price range.
