Murphey Candler Elementary School is a Georgia distinguished school that enrolls more than 940 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It provides a variety of academic courses, such as math, social studies, science, English and physical education. The school offers Title I, accelerated reader, after-school, tutoring, and character and gifted education programs. It provides opportunities to participate in various academic competitions and programs, such as geography and spelling bee competitions, Helen Ruffin reading bowl, academic bowl, Science Olympiad, social studies fairs and black history bowl. The school s media center provides a variety of resources for students, teachers, staff members and parents for research and leisure reading.
