Cal Citrus Packing Company is a citrus grower that operates two packinghouses based out of Lindsay in central California s Citrus Belt. Cal Citrus Packing Company has a grower base of more than 4,000 acres and packs and ships an average of 2.5 million cartons of fresh citrus each year. Cal Citrus Packing Company, with other companies in the industry, was directly responsible for the establishment of many citrus-related organizations and companies, such as SWORLCO, Valley Foods, Harvest Investment and Harvest Container, as well as Central California Orange Growers Cooperative. Cal Citrus traces its origin back to 1958, when H.A. Luallen founded Luallen Soil Service and began purchasing an initial base of investor ranches. It continued to grow and by 1969 had purchased its first packinghouse.
