The Association of Legal Administrators, also known as ALA, provides support to professionals involved in the management of law firms and corporate and government legal entities. Founded in 1971, it hosts conferences and special interest retreats for legal administrators for learning and networking purposes. The association has more than 10,000 members worldwide. The Association of Legal Administrators is also involved in marketing and communication activities. It administers the Certified Legal Manager (CLM) program, which helps to identify practitioners. The association additionally provides several membership options. The Association of Legal Administrators operates the Legal Management Resource Center, which offers peer consultation services.
