They ended up costing us so much money! I was looking online for a local company with reasonable prices, and I saw that this company had one good review listed. We had already excavated and prepped the corner of our house where the downspout problem was causing seepage into the basement. I was wanting to prevent future damage, and Dan Drayer's idea to solve the problem sounded like a likely solution. He assured us he'd done this successfully hundreds of times, and he seemed trustworthy at first, so we hired him. He did finish quickly, but didn't seal the drain connections, and diverted the water in such a way that the pressure backed up. With the next heavy rain, his drain was POURING out water in 3 visible areas, going straight down the side of the house, and we had the worst leak ever, which ruined part of the carpet & pad. The worst part was that he doesn't understand what went wrong, when the problem looks very obvious to even my husband and myself. Dan THINKS he can fix his error by changing and sealing the above-ground pipe, but its clear to us that we have to tear down the retaining wall, re-excavate, and start over, and another landscaping company agrees. Now we're out over $1200 to D & R, plus however much it will cost to replace the basement damage, and now we have to re-excavate and start over, whenever we can come up with the money to have a different company fix it. Dan never responded to our requests for even a partial refund. To add insult to injury, I recently went back to the online site to see the review that caused me to hire this company, and I saw that it was Dan Drayer himself who had posted the fake "positive" review for his company. I was livid!
