My wife and I were looking to rent a simple motor boat for the day. We called at 9am (when it opens) and was told by the manager/proprietor that he wasn't in front of the reservation book yet and to call back in about 10 minutes. No problem,.. Called back about 15 minutes later and there was no answer. At that point I decided to just give it a good bit of time. Some time later I called and did my best to describe the type of boat I was looking to rent that was listed on his website. Some how, some way something I said was interpreted as that this man only owns one boat. If you're having a difficult time making sense of the last sentence, it's because it in fact makes no sense. Not only was what I said misinterpreted in a nonsensical way, but it seemed to strike a nerve with this eccentric gentleman. After attempting to clarify but only being talked over by this man's embarrassing rant, and even a second phone call after being hung up on once, I was told I'd never be a customer of his.

You can rent a kayak, sailboat, or other water vessel here and tool around Devil's Lake. If you don't have your own watercraft, this is the place to go. Exploring the lake is a great way to spend the day, but Blue Heron rentals are pricey.
