Today my mothern'law and I went to visit Bernhardt Creative Beginnings to check out the center, talk about the curriculum and basically to get information because I was interested in enrolling my 3 year old daughter in a child development center for socialization with children her own age and to prepare her for preschool. I researched the rating scale and what to look for in a great development center because I want the best I could get in my area. When we walked in, it looked really nice and clean. I felt hopeful until we asked the "receptionist" for any written information or if she could tell us anything about the center and how it worked. The receptionist refused giving us any information what so ever, then told me I must enroll my child first and wait for an appointment before she would talk to me at all. I visited 2 other centers today and was welcomed warmly and took us on a tour of the facility, showing us the class rooms, talking with us about their methods of teaching and play, so I was expecting the same when I came to Bernhardt Creative Beginnings. The receptionist handed us a enrollment form, that I didn't want to fill it out, I wasn't interested in enrolling my child in to center that I had no information about, but I wanted to take the form to look over it. The receptionist pulled the enrollment form away so I couldn't take it. Stunned, I took my daughter's hand and walked towards the door not saying another word, still baffled about what had happened I couldn't managed to open the door to exit and over looking the sign that said "use other door". The receptionist had the nerve to yell out "You should use the other door, well that's what the signs saids." I couldnt believe it, this person just insulted my literacy. Now I'm angry, not only was she not helpful; she just insulted me. I told my husband about what had happened, he decided to go back, along with my mothern'law, without me to find out this person's name and maybe talk to a higher up because this was unacceptable. The receptionist refused to tell her name! Just flat out would not tell him her name, it doesn't matter what field you are in or what you do, if you work with the public on a regular basis, you just don't do that...that is horrible customer service! Phone calls where made and we later found out that this person is the "DIRECTOR" of Bernhardt Creative Beginnings. Needless to say I am not comfortable leaving my child there.

This Child care facility has made false accusations that I left the premises with out putting my child in a car seat. They also have exaggerated statements that I was incapable of caring for my child because, I had told an assistant I was tired. I would also recommend that you check into drug testing of the employees before I enrolled my child in this facility.
