As you cross over the bridge into downtown Lemont, the first thing you'll see is the proud steeples and spires of our many faith communities. Gerharz Funeral Home celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2012, moving to our current location in 1949. Urban C. Gerharz, our founder, always referred to our Frank Lloyd Wright- style building as a Home for Funerals. Its vintage charm remains while many more convenient and modern amenities have been added to ensure your family an intimate and special experience in honoring your loved one. There is never more than one family being honored at our Funeral Home. We offer some very unique opportunities here as well; valet parking, an outdoor open-air lounge for seasonal use along with our beautifully and conveniently appointed lounge inside the funeral home. We also offer a separate sitting parlor outside of the chapel for family respite.Mostly, we offer you a very personalized level of professional service that just isn't that common anymore. Anthony P. Cappetta and his family have been serving the area's funeral arrangement needs for generations. His family's approach to seeing to every detail and accommodating every request possible remains as important now as it ever has.
