Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, founded in 1984, is a referral hospital primarily serving horses. Located in Leesburg, Va., it is one of the three campuses comprising the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The center s staff includes board-certified veterinarians in anesthesia, internal medicine and surgery. Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center s staff also includes veterinarians in residency and internship training programs, and certified veterinary technicians. The center provides outpatient veterinary services by appointment. It also offers 24-hour, seven-days a week critical care and emergency services. Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center also provides farrier services for corrective shoeing of horses.
