Founded in 1972, the Plains Area Mental Health Center is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides outpatient mental health counseling and adult rehabilitative services. It also offers individual and couple counseling and family therapy services. The organization provides psychotherapy services for depression, anxiety, fear, marital and family conflicts, mood swings, irritability, stress, anger, aggressiveness, and social and peer, as well as school and work adjustment problems. It also offers medication management and 24-hour emergency services. The Plains Area Mental Health Center s community support program provides assistance and support for community integration, crisis prevention and planning, social skills development, symptoms management and family education. It maintains a staff of psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses. The Plains Area Mental Health Center is located in Le Mars, Iowa.
