- Dental ExaminationRadiography/X-rays: Along with an oral exam, Digital dental x-rays help your child’s dentist get a more complete view of their mouth. All our offices are capable of panoramic and intra-oral radiographs. We also have a 3-D Cone Beam CT Scanning machine at our Latham, NY office and panoramic radiograph machines. They use a much smaller amount of radiation than old techniques, less than one-tenth of the same exposure as an analog x-ray (imaging used for bone fractures).

- Dental SealantsWe are very happy to report that our office is now fully open and back to routine care! We have spent the first several weeks of our re-opening focusing on the most urgent dental needs. We have been trying to catch up on all the missed appointments for fillings, extractions, sealants, etc. that were originally scheduled during the time of the NYS mandated closure of dental offices. These appointments were our primary focus because if left untreated, these children might incur pain, infections or worsening of dental issues.
- Fillings
- CrownsIf your child needs a complicated procedure, such as a tooth extraction, crown or multiple fillings, sedation can allow for safe and effective care in a comfortable, stress-free environment. Our pediatric dentists will discuss all options with you and help you decide what is best for your child.
- PulpotomyCrowns: Sometimes when a tooth has lost too much tooth structure or has a pulpotomy performed, a child will benefit from dental crowns to restore the look and function of their teeth.
- Root Canal TreatmentPulpotomies: In a pulpotomy or a baby root canal, a portion of the dental nerve/pulp is removed in case of a cavity getting into the nerve. Once the tooth is confirmed to be healthy our pediatric dentists fill the tooth with a special material that prevents infection and then restore the tooth with a crown
- Deep Cleaning
- Oral SurgeryLaser Soft Tissue Surgery: This surgical technique is an alternative to traditional soft tissue periodontal/oral surgery. It’s less invasive and minimizes swelling, bleeding, and damage to surrounding tissue. This also means your child will have faster healing times, reducing their recovery times. Plus, they will have a more comfortable dental experience overall.
- Tooth ExtractionsTooth Extractions: Sometimes baby teeth do not fall out on their own or may develop an infection. Our pediatric dentists may recommend extraction if baby teeth or adult teeth are impeding your child’s oral health.
- OrthodonticsThe best part about The Vivos System is that it is non-surgical, non-invasive, and requires no medications. In the past decade, over 17,000 patients have received treatment with The Vivos System, including Dr. Decker’s daughter, Caroline. Vivos Guides are removable appliances, that are a version of early phase orthodontics. They use the patient’s natural, genetic growth potential, to guide and promote wider, forward, and downward jaw growth.
