Opportunity Village is a nonprofit agency that serves people with intellectual disabilities to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families. The company operates work center campuses and thrift stores in Las Vegas. It also operates a vehicle donation program, trains and places hundreds of disabled adults in jobs throughout Southern Nevada and hosts some special events in all of Las Vegas, including its annual Magical Forest. OV dates back to 1954, when a group of Las Vegas families got together to support the needs of their children with mental retardation. As American society evolved, providing more support for children with disabilities of all types, the company expanded into specialized services for adults with intellectual disabilities. OV is one of the largest private providers of vocational training, employment, advocacy and recreation for people with disabilities in Nevada. Opportunity Village is headquartered in Las Vegas.
