General Info
Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM, leads our committed and experienced medical team. Dr. Pohl is an addiction specialist with over twenty-five years' experience in treating the disease of addiction. He is a board-certified physician, a Fellow of the American Board of Family Practice, a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and an accomplished author and lecturer. The knowledge and skill Dr.Pohl brings to LVRC ensures that the most current methodologies of treating withdrawal are used by our team, addressing the specific needs of each client. Clients entering treatment will find compassionate, flexible treatment that offers hope. Our comprehensive education about the disease of addiction leaves no stone unturned. We believe addiction is much more than addictive use of substances. Addiction does not discriminate. Addiction does not care how many degrees one has or how many square feet make up one's home or even if one has a home. We see the addict simply as a human being who has suffered and endured a life of pain, but we hold no sympathy for our clients, only empathy.
