Trained to screw you in your time of need.PLEASE read this evaluation.

We brought our 5 month old Corgi to this place. he had consumed several pieces of sugarfree gum sweetened with Xylitol. This is a fatal dose. The dingbat at the front counter refused to even get the vet until we called animal control (Xylitol is not a poison in general). Time was CRUCIAL and she wanted to play games.I demanded a doctor and refused to play the game. She (after rolling her eyes and guffing at me) got the doctor (St.Johns).I explained quickly what he ate, the time duration and was OK to induce vomiting. The woman up front had no idea what Xylitol even was.She is not qualified to be in this place. The assistant come out and tells me he is CRITICAL that his glucose level is down to 65 and it's normally 185.The REAL correct amount is 70-120, so he is at 65 and the Xylitol has barely started Hypoglycemia. She presents us with a estimate of $866.They want to keep him for TEN HOURS.We get conflicting answers from the assistant as well as the doctor herself (I question them apart from each other). These people are LIARS/CHEATS/THIEVES.I tell her she will monitor him evey 60 minutes and report back to me 20 minutes after each sample.1 hour later his count is now 75, another hour it's 85...because we got him in there QUICKLY we dodged a major bullet. We yanked him out of there by 4:00PM.I watched him all night myself. At 8:00AM we called his regular vet and by 9:30AM he was in there, got a complete blood workup. The test show he is PERFECTLY NORMAL! The use of induced vomiting worked.Had we played the game he would have suffered possible damage/death and cost us close to $900.The final bill was under $300.Doctor St.John is GOOD..but this place is set up to screw you and do it good in your time of need.I strongly suggest you NOW print out a list of other places to take your beloved family pet and not wait until minutes count to have this or worse happen to you. There is zero compassion at this place, the receptionist has not a clue how to handle emergencies.I am not a "Vet" but I also am not stupid. This is my OPINION, it is accurate and honest.

Terrible experience!! April 21...

Terrible experience!! April 21st at 2am I took my pug Bubba who was a year and a half into this hospital after he had been having intestinal problems. Me thinking it could be fixed easily explained to the vet I live pay check to pay check and would need to make payments. 2 min after bringing my dog in a vet asistant grabbed him out of my hands very roughly by his stomach that has clearly been in pain. He yelped like I've never heard in my life. 2 min after that the vet came out to tell me I should put him down. Without even knowing what was wrong with him. She said it may be parvo and she can run a test, she ran the test and came back negative. She convinced me she couldn't do anything so he needed to be put down. I was of course crying very loud and took her word for it because she should know more than I. I said my goodbyes to Bubba and that was it. I don't feel like any of this was right... Has taken me 4 months to be able to write this. PLEASE FIND A CARING HOSPITAL FOR YOUR PETS!! No pets life should be taken, these hospitals should do everything possible to find the problem before convincing someone their best friend should be put down. If I knew the vets name I would definitely peruse getting HER fired.

Also forgot to mention he ate 500mg of benedryl, she claimed that wouldn't do anything to him. I researched it with animal poison control and they said that couldve very much been the issue. I hope this hospital goes out of business because they have no right to take people's companions.

I wish I could give 0 stars.

I had to take my dog Roper in because he was limping. I had finacial concerns but the doctor worked within my budget to make Roper comfortable until I was able to go to my regular VET. The entire staff went above and beyond to help me and my dog! I wish LVAEH had a day veterinarian business I would be going to them in a heart beat

not happy

My son brought their 4 year old doxie as she had been vomiting for a few days. They first demanded $575, which he paid. Then they ran tests to the tune of $2,300.00, and a few hours later called my son to come pick her up as she had DIED. So, now we re faced with almost $3,000 of expenses and they insist that they are fully justified. I disagree. The dog was there for about 8 hours total! Buyer beware!

My first and only experience w...

My first and only experience with LVAEH was truly a wonderful experience despite the circumstances that brought me there that fateful night. I had stayed home from work to be with my very old and ill dog Chance and I knew that I was going to have to make the decision that every animal lover and pet owner dreads having to make. He was 14 years old and had a brain tumor and had become quite ill the night before. I was unhappy with the vet that I had been taking all of my dogs to and I just did not want to take him there because it was already such a hard thing to do and I knew they would make the experience that much worse. So I procrastinated like most people do knowing that I would not be bringing him home with me that night. When I finally had to concede to the fact that I couldn't wait any longer for fear of him suffering I called the LVAEH and explained the situation. From the very first moment over the phone they were so compassionate and caring that I knew that was the place we would have to go that night. We left to take him there around 10:30 that night and when we arrived one of the staff members literally ran around the counter to meet us at the door and take him out my boyfriend's arms. She asked why we were there and we explained as best we could and she said very quietly that she would take him back and get him ready and to fill out the paper work at the front desk. We did what she asked and they told us to have a seat in the lobby which was full. We sat down and no more than 5 minutes had passed when they called us back to the room. We followed the lady back and waited for no more than a couple of minutes before they brought him in. We had him wrapped up in a beach towel and they had taken it and folded it into a pillow for him and had him wrapped up in this cute little comforter with moons and stars all over it, it was very sweet. They told us to take our time and to let them know when we were ready. We said our goodbye's for about 10 minutes I guess and then called the vet into the room. She came in was very calm and spoke softly as she explained the procedure and asked us to tell her when we were ready. We said one last goodbye and nodded to her to begin. She did so and then checked his heart and said "He has passed, I am so so sorry for your loss. Please take your time and let me know when you are ready to go". We talked to him a few more minutes and decided it was time to go. I was a complete wreck and my boyfriend wasn't much better. We walked out and paid which was actually cheaper than what my vet wanted to charge and went home. It was truly a horrible night but they made it as easy and comfortable as they possibly could. A few days later we received a sympathy card in the mail and exactly a week later received a call that we could pick up his ashes. Again it was a very sad occasion for us but they truly showed compassion and caring in our difficult time. I would recommend them and I have to any and every one.

Great Team at LVAEH

This is a fabulous video - it really captures the spirit of the folks at LVAEH, who are caring, compassionate, fun-loving, and hard working. If I didn't already take my pets there when there's an emergency, I would take them now after seeing this video. My husband just watched it and commented that it brings a real sense of calm and peace to what can be a very hectic and chaotic atmosphere in an emergency facility. We KNOW our kids are in good hands when we take them to LVAEH. Congrats on the commercial! Chris & James Wong
