  Prior to relocating to Las Vegas in 2006, Dr. Rovit was on the faculty of University  Hospitals of Cleveland. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  Professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  Dr. Ho then completed primary care and ocular disease residency at Gallup Indian Medical Center in New Mexico providing medical optometry to the Navajo Nation in a multi-specialty hospital. He served as the on-call eye provider for a level III trauma center during his residency, providing him with extensive experience with complex cases, ocular emergencies, and trauma.

  Dr. Julio is board-certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases and glaucoma. Dr. Julio is a member of the Nevada Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and the American Optometric Association. She is also the Clinical Director of Nevada for the Special Olympics Lion’s International Opening Eyes Program.
• Ophthalmology
  Joyce Cassen, M.D. attended Case Western Reserve University, obtaining her BA in Chemistry, a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology along with her MD.  She completed her post-graduate training at University Hospitals of Cleveland and began her ophthalmology career with the Cleveland Clinic. In 1985 Dr. Cassen began working at the Aina Hana Eye Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she has practiced for the past 32 years. Dr. Cassen is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

  Shepherd Eye Center was the first Medicare-certified Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Nevada to be devoted solely to eye surgery.
• Cataracts
  Shepherd Eye Center has one of the only, fellowship-trained Pediatric Ophthalmologists in Las Vegas. Dr. Adam Rovit specializes in children’s eye conditions including Amblyopia, Strabismus and has removed cataracts in infants & children as young as a few months old. Lazy eye is the layperson’s term for a medical condition called Amblyopia. It is generally a result of poor visual development in early infancy. Premature and low birth weight infants are at greater risk for Amblyopia (Lazy eye). Strabismus is the medical term for crossed eyes; a condition in which both eyes do not focus on the same place at the same time. One eye may turn in, out or down due to weak eye muscles or severe farsightedness.
• Cataract Surgery
  In 1968, Shepherd Eye Center opened in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Dr. John R. Shepherd pioneered new techniques and instrumentation that improved the way cataract surgery was performed around the world.
• Eye Exam
  When you call to make an eye appointment, be prepared to describe any current vision problems. In addition, patients should ask if the eye exam will affect their vision temporarily and if they will need someone to drive them home. They may also want to ask about the cost of the exam if their insurance plan will cover any of the cost, and how payment is handled.

  Tushina Reddy, M.D. received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School, Inteflex Program, which combined both undergraduate and medical school training. She then completed two years of residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Hospital followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Cleveland-Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Reddy is the primary clinical investigator for numerous ongoing research trials, keeping our office on the cutting edge of new treatments in the field of ophthalmology. She specializes in cataract and refractive surgery and is accepting new patients. Dr. Reddy is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (Board Certified), a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Clark County Medical Society. She is married to Ravi Reddy, M.D., an ophthalmologist and they have three sons.
