The National Marine Manufacturer's Association honored Island Packet Yachts by naming them as a recipient of the 2003 Marine Industry CSI Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction. The company designs and manufactures cruising sail and power yachts. It has a network of sail and power dealers located throughout the United States and Europe. The Island Packet Yachts Ship's Store offers online ordering for a variety of items designed to enhance IP ownership experience including logo apparel, equipment upgrades, gift items and service parts for both Island Packet and Packet Craft yachts. The Island Packet 420 received the award for 'Best Full Size Cruiser' in the 2000 Boat Of The Year competition, as conducted by Cruising World magazine. Island Packet Yachts was founded in 1979 by naval architect Bob Johnson and is based in Largo, Fla.
