The worse place ever I wish my family members were not buried here.
05/21/13
I visited this cemetery on 5/18/2013 after learning that my grandfather was buried there. This is the worst place I have ever visited and I am wondering why Baltimore County has not cited them. There were 4 vaults on the ground 3 white and one black. One white vault appeared to have trash in it. Upon entering the cemetery, on the left of the entrance I noticed a pile of headstones. What's that all about? Many of the graves were covered in Tarp and without grass. I did not locate my loved one, so I used the number on the sign in the cemetery. I called and the answering machine picked up and did not introduce them as what business I was calling. Needless to say, I did not leave a message. I will be contacting the county regarding the issue. The deceased deserves respect.
This place is the worse ever. They have no respect for the dead or their family. I had my baby brother buried here on march 9, 2013 he they still have not cleaned off the site. it is full of rocks, dirt piled up and they bent his name plate. I have called the real number at 410-442-2434 and they lie and say they are goin to get to it this week - every week. I visit him every sunday and it looks terrible. i'd clean it myself but i'm 6 months pregnant and would need a pretty big shovel. Not to mention - where would i put the dirt and rocks. Certainly not on another persons site.

I visited Mount Zion Cemetery on April 9, 2013 to conduct some family history research. My overall impression is that the cemetery is poorly managed and unsightly. The arch entrance to the cemetery needs to be painted. The paint is faded and peeling. The fence around the cemetery is completely overgrown with dead vines. There are three entrances to the cemetery. In addition to the main entrance, there is a second entrance on Hollins Ferry Road and a third on the adjacent street. I was very surprised to see that there are only three roads in the cemetery and each one is only one lane wide. While I was in the cemetery, a work crew had its vehicle parked on one of the roads. In order for me to move to that section of the cemetery, I had to exit the cemetery and drive around to the side entrance to access that part of the cemetery. There is no office or staff at the cemetery.
i have a loved one in that cemetary and i must agree it is not kept up well at all. his grave was unmarked and after some time thought the family would be able to afford a headstone but later found that they didnt, we had a good idea but could not find him because his steak with his name on it was no where to be founf. we saw piles of steaks and momentums teddy bears in various piles on the intense serch for our friend. it was just sad. they really need to get it together. im gonna call the number so we can get our friend a headstone
