Steven M. Castorani and C. Dale Hendricks founded North Creek Nurseries in Landenberg, Pa., in 1988. It provides starter plant plugs to wholesale nurseries and retail mail order businesses. The plugs are used in restoration projects and by highway departments, municipalities and conservation societies. Its low maintenance native perennials and grasses are available in flats of plugs designed to be planted directly in the ground. Many shallow-rooted plants are available in flats and are also suited to planting in the ground. The company also supplies plants to nature centers and botanical gardens and arboreta. NCN s specialties include perennials, grasses and shrubs with an emphasis on Eastern North American natives and their cultivars.
