General Info
Lancaster Country Day School is an independent, college-preparatory school that combines a rigorous curriculum with a supportive and encouraging faculty to ensure that every preschool-12th grade student receives the best education available. We are distinctive because of our demanding college preparatory education and the close, mentoring relationships our faculty has with students. We value community and encourage parents to participate in their child’s education. With a variety of scholarships and aid opportunities, gifted and motivated children from varying backgrounds can attend our school. In the 2016-2017 school year, LCDS awarded more than $3.5 million in need- and merit-based aid.

One year at our local middle school, our daughter realized she wanted a more challenging environment. At LCDS, she found it. She joined the school in the 7th grade and found classes that are accelerated and challenging without being just busy work. Her projects are creative. And the kids here feed off each other's enthusiasm for learning. No one hides that they received a 100 percent on their test. On our daughter's first visit, she found a kind of freedom and ease that she never experienced at public school. Small classes of kids having free and open conversations between each other and their teachers. It was a true campus-like atmosphere where everyone interacted and mingled together. Even when I visited, the first thing I noticed was a culture that made its students seem very self-assured. And parents can easily be involved throughout their child's entire school experience - not just elementary school. There are plenty of ways to volunteer all the way through high school.

Provided by YP.comOur two children started attending this school last year and have been challenged and engaged in learning. They are treated as individuals and their schedules are tailored to their interests/strengths as opposed to everyone taking the same course at a certain grade level.
We have good public schools in our town, but the size and constraints make it difficult to work at the students level. My children are known by their LCDS teachers and peers as community members and students.
This is simply the best decision we have made for our children!
