- SidingHammel Associates is pleased to showcase the completion of a private residential project in Lancaster, PA. This new master bedroom suite is fully accessible and features walk-in closets, a new bathroom and changing room for the adjacent pool. The addition is located on the edge of the Pequea Creek flood plain, is designed to be elevated on concrete piers to protect the property and minimize environmental impact and maximizes the panoramic views of the creek and surrounding Lancaster County farmland. On the exterior, the painted wood siding blends with the materials utilized on the existing structure and compliment the natural environment. Focal points inside include the beautiful wood beams, pilasters and ceilings and the bedroom stone accent wall, blending the feel of outdoors inside.
- Residential Roof Repair
- MasonryThe two additions flanking the main entry provide a fully accessible restroom and a mother’s room. The additions were constructed of locally sourced field stone to match the existing historic masonry and included an authentic slate roof. Original stained glass windows were removed from the side facades of the entry to create new door openings, and relocated to the exterior of the new additions to preserve the character of the original church, while simultaneously providing the necessary privacy within the new spaces.
- Electrical Work“The City of Lancaster has engaged Hammel Associates Architects for numerous commissions over the past two decades. They have always excelled at the important early steps of planning and conceptual design and then followed through with high quality architectural design and administration. The award winning, National Register listed Central Market project combined building restoration with modernizing mechanical and electrical services. Hammel Associates provided services as the Owner’s Project Representative for both the Market and Lancaster’s Office of Promotion (LOOP) projects and both were completed on time and with minimal change orders. The positive results of our interaction with Hammel Associates speak for themselves and we enthusiastically recommend them.”
