The care at this facility, both medical and nursing was an abomination. I was placed in a room after being delivered by EMS. The ED physician spent only 5 minutes doing an intake and exam. I never saw a ED physician after that. I am a critical care nurse, I had to direct my care both in the ED and ICU, such as issues rapid HR, low blood pressure, severe anxiety. I was on an IV medication drip in the ICU and my pumps were beeping for several minutes (20-30 minutes) at a time, the button on the call light was very difficult to press, they left my urinal in the bathroom despite me being attached to a hard-wire monitor and a IV drip. My meals were not delivered, I was never given items to wash up with even after multiple request. When I had enough after my call light was not answered after several minutes, I detached myself from the monitor and walked to the bathroom to find stacks of bedsides commodes in there and the toilet was in accessible. I spoke with a house supervisor (an older woman) who was very defensive and rude and told me that alarm volumes and being audible for staff to hear was not a Joint Commission concern. This house supervisor told me that I was at the opposite end of the ICU in relation to the nurses station so they can't hear my alarms.

This is the third Franciscan Hospital I have been admitted to and each time St Francis, St Anthony's, and St Clair's (Ain't Cares). St Francis ER made me walk to all my procedures despite my chief complaint being shortness of breath on exertion. I later found out my heart function was less than 20%. There was a very, very rude ER nurse at St Anthony's and the Social Worker was a judgemental d*&!. The you have Ain't Cares.

My last admission at Ain't Cares was related to a prescription error and adverse effect to a class of medications I had reactions to previously. For over years period I went to the Franciscan Medical Clinic for the same chief complaints, no labs were drawn, no med review was done. I finally got into a specialist who said that I was clearly in serotonin toxicity and bordering on serotonin syndrome. I was admitted to Good Sam in Puyallup for the same symptoms which were more severe and the care was phenomenal.

I'm saying good-bye to Franciscan as their overall health system is an abomination plus given the fact of their reputation of poor treatment of their employees.
