Remove sections of stucco to expose the hive. Wood often times needs to be cut from shed floors or walls. Sometimes bee swarms get on a tree branch and the tree branch needs to be cut down along with the hive they created there. Trash cans that sit for long periods of time unattended will attract new bee swarms if they find a way in. Flower Pots or Planters when stored upside down also make for an appealing honey storage location. Recycle Bins are like flower pots when they are left upside down. Bird Boxes collect new swarms when the bird leaves after her babies are grown and gone. Drywall Removal is necessary when bees get into a wood - framed structure. It has been my personal observation that honeybees only care about a certain location if there is plenty of food nearby. When honeybees swarm, their main goal is to be closer to a food source as certain plants bloom at different times of the year. When you notice you now have bees flying around your home, it might be that they found a good food source in your area. When a food source is too far to travel, the bees all decide together to relocate to a suitable place (as described to the left) closer to that source. So, usually if you see 1 swarm of bees, then the chances are there are more than 1 in your neighborhood. If the old hive left behind starves out, then it remains a suitable place for some later time as the food source blooms again the following year. This could explain why some customers have reported bees occupying space on their property every year. Bee Removal becomes necessary if you do not want the bees living in your house or backyard. When you discover you have a colony on your property you need to decide if its safe that they stay or if they need to get removed. If you live in the country with no neighbors, you might get away with letting them stay. If you live in HOA or in some other highly populated neighborhood then you should consider the risks. Honeybees defend the area around their nest (where the queen lays her eggs). Bees can get aggressive at anytime even if they have been nice for a period of time. If the bees on your property propose some risk or danger to public safety then consider bee removal. There are certain city and county codes that prevent you from keeping your bees unless you have them moved to a proper box so an inspector can monitor them from time to time.
