When my golden retriever developed a huge and quickly-doubling mast cell tumor, I sought Dr. Jackson's care and started reading journal articles that were very grim. Dr. Jackson was careful to run pre-op tests to ensure that my beloved dog was not already metastatic, which would have been important to consider in planning for my dog's care. Those tests showed no spread of disease, thus Dr. Jackson performed surgery and removed the entire tumor--it was huge--and a lymph node, which was negative. The large incision healed beautifully, and Dr. Jackson and his staff were superlative in every dimension of care: clinical expertise and ongoing care, communication, and compassion. Now I watch like a hawk for any new lumps so that quick intervention can keep my best friend in my life for as long as possible. Dr. Jackson and his staff are FANTASTIC!!
Dr. Jackson is a gentle giant, he's not much of a social talker, but he's a serious veterinarian who knows his stuff. I would recommend all of my friends to him, it's not a fancy place, but it's a loving and clean environment, and you and your pets will be treated like family. I especially love the fact that Dr. Jackson personally does the follow-up calls himself, and not the techs!

Dr Jackson is a 2nd generation Veterinarian, who is recommended even by other vets for his surgical skills. He personally follows up after surgery by phone to check on the status of his patient, that's not you, but your pet. With at least one of my pets he gave us hope where other vets didn't. I have a cat with CRF, whose testing indicated she might not live long, he said we treat based on the individual animal and not tests or numbers. That cat has been alive for years since her diagnosis and has a decent quality of life with home care. Dr. Jackson is willing to listen to alternative treatment and offer clinical trial medicine in specific instances. The entire staff is caring in treating animals with lengthy diseases, I've had a few feral cats with diseases, and in dealing with their mum. If your pets are part of your family, this is where you want to take them, a skilled and caring Doctor. He was once in who's who and is probably better educated than my last dentist.
