John Fitzgerald provides counseling and therapy services in Lake Oswego, OR. Specializing in trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring medical issues. John Fitzgerald is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Certified Addiction Specialist with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a PhD in Systems Science. John has been actively involved in counseling, teaching, consulting and doing research on addiction for over two decades. In fact, helping those who struggle has become a central focus of his life's work. He is an expert at translating the complexities of addiction into understandable intervention frameworks that can help those who suffer. As a clinician he has treated all kinds of addictions in both community-based and private practice settings. He has taught addiction treatment courses in two graduate schools, and most recently worked in the pharmaceutical industry implementing risk management interventions to reduce abuse and overdose death from prescription medicines.
