  Patients pre-admitting for surgery complete their registration, nurse interview, blood work, EKG, and chest x-ray located in the Atrium at the our Main Campus. If a patient needs financial counseling, they can also complete a financial assistance application in the Patient Access Center. Patients needing to discuss their accounts have access to knowledgeable personnel to address their concerns and answer questions.

  After receiving his bachelor's in psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Lathram began his career in healthcare administration by managing an ophthalmology practice. By the age of 26 he was managing a 16 provider OBGYN practice. Since then, Charlie has played pivotal roles in transforming multiple physician practices into thriving networks of healthcare delivery systems. His success is attributed to his dedication to a collaborative approach building positive relationships with providers, clinicians, administrative teams, and local community leaders.   Dr. Azevedo is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has worked as a hospitalist at Lake Charles Memorial Health System for six years. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Azevedo’s post medical training included a residency at Scripps Clinic/Green Hospital, where he served as chief resident.

  Mammography is the process of taking a digital image of the breast to identify abnormalities such as very small lumps, areas of calcification, or other changes before they can be felt by a woman or her physician.
• Computed Tomography
  The Joint Commission measured Memorial against national standards for the care of stroke patients including: door to CT scan time, how quickly patients received tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) – a clot-busting medication, how quickly patients are transferred who need clot retrieval procedures, and the quality of care administered within those time frames and through discharge. Memorial met these guideline standards thanks to the interdisciplinary team’s use and development of written care protocols, education programs, quality reviews and performance improvement activities across the health system.

  Quarterly meetings will be hosted for groups of ten, as an opportunity for LCMHS and local community patients to receive personalized skin care treatments and products by volunteer licensed oncology estheticians, like Tiffaney Maggio and Tamara Fontenot. They teach you all about caring for your skin before, during, and after chemotherapy and radiation.

  The cancer conference is recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as an essential component of excellence in cancer care. Each week, a range of medical disciplines including surgery, pathology, radiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, medical and radiation oncology, as well as allied healthcare professionals meet for discussions on how to best care for each individual cancer patient.   Dr. Brown serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Lake Charles Memorial Health System. Dr. Brown received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center—Shreveport in Shreveport, LA, where he also spent his residency training in general surgery. While still in Shreveport, he completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery and is board certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He most recently earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University—Shreveport.
