Located in LaGrange, Ga., Long Cane Middle School is a part of the Troup County School System. The school serves more than 1,000 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes English, math, science and social studies. It has a parent-teacher organization that conducts fundraising activities and special programs. Long Cane Middle School supports a variety of sports activities, such as football, wrestling, basketball, and track and field. The school also offers a range of extracurricular activities that includes computer science, fine and performing arts, and health and physical education. It operates several educational and cultural clubs. In addition, it provides food, guidance counseling and medical care. The school features a library and media center that maintains a collection of books, databases and reference materials. Founded in 1996, Long Cane Middle School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
