Established in 1962, KATC is an ABC-affiliated television station. Located in Lafayette, La., the station telecasts several programs on weather, sports, health, community, business, consumer protection and lifestyle. KATC also provides advertising opportunities to advertisers, as well as telecasts celebrity interviews. Its programs include World News Now, America This Morning, Good Morning Acadiana, The View, One Life to Live, All My Children and Nightline. KATC joins with local law enforcement agencies, hospitals and other organizations to organize public awareness programs. It is a part of the Evening Post Publishing Company, which owns several television stations and publishes daily and weekly newspapers in South Carolina, North Carolina and Texas.
