SOLD US A KITTEN& HE HAD THE VIRUS FOR FIP--- IT'S INCURABLE. It's transmitted through the fecal-oral route so that means any cat that shares a litter box with a cat that has it can get it-- so no telling how many cats at Francy's have it. It can also not show signs for months or years, so you don't know if you're getting a kitten with it or not. There's no one test to do for it either because if it's latent ( like herpes can be), it won't show up on a test even though the kitten still has it! She's changed her business name a few times before this and now I know why--I have to put my kitten to SLEEP TODAY. Devastated! Make sure you read the contract you sign with her too-- nothing you can do about it because it's not within 48 hours! PS-- our kitten had NEVER been around another cat, at all.
