- GlaucomaPain is categorized in two areas as a rule: acute and chronic. Acute pain is pain that is new, usually due to trauma, surgery, or sudden illness. Patients suffering from acute pain are typically given a treatment plan that includes a higher dose of painkillers but only for a short time. Chronic pain is described as pain that is due to aging factors or lingering injuries. Arthritis, degenerative joint disease, diabetes, glaucoma, and even cancer are all contributing diseases to chronic pain. Chronic pain is generally treated with lower doses of painkillers and steroid medication on a longer dosage schedule. Some physical therapy and surgery also may be suggested to put your pet at ease.

- ThyroidOur in-house diagnostic analyzers enable us to conduct a complete analysis of routine blood work. We perform cytology tests, check for heartworms and tick-borne diseases, and we conduct fecal analyses and urinalysis. Results from diagnostic testing can detect inflammation, infection, anemia, bacteria, fungi, parasites, and cancer. We can also determine electrolyte status and hydration levels, evaluate kidney, liver, and pancreas function, screen for thyroid disease, check blood sugar levels, and more.
- RadiologyWith the added advantage of regular screenings using dental radiology, our veterinarians can locate potential problem areas. Dental x-rays enable us to identify tooth root changes (like abscesses) and alveolar bone loss, and it gives us the opportunity to discover teeth that are painful or require extraction.
