Glen Acres Elementary School, built in 1970 and located in Lafayette, Ind., has an enrollment of more than 400 students in grades kindergarten through five. The school is affiliated with the Lafayette School Corporation and services the east side of Lafayette. It has a staff of more than 30 certified teachers, administrator, librarian, teachers, Title I coordinator, support personnel, and speech and hearing pathologist. The support personnel includes nurse, counselor, Title I aides, special education paraprofessionals and instructional assistants. Economically, the school district ranges from very low to middle class students, with the majority of students belonging to lower middle class families. More than 60 percent of the student body receives free or reduced lunches and are offered book rentals.
