Established in 1966, originally known as Laconia Housing and Redevelopment Authority is presently operating under the name Laconia Housing Authority. Based in Laconia, N.H., the agency provides housing opportunities for over 1,000 people in Laconia. The Housing Authority manages housing rental programs for people with low income or limited means, including seniors and handicapped. It offers Congregate Housing Services Program for low-income seniors, providing meals, housekeeping, laundry service, emergency response, transportation and personal care to seniors and disabled. Additional programs include Home and Community Base Care, Senior Drop-in Day Center and an Adult Day Care Center. Some of its developments include Sunrise Towers, Stafford House, Blueberry Place, Normandin Apartments, Orchid Hill and Northfield Village.
