My Generac 8KW was installed in Feb 2010 by a dealer who is no longer in business. April 2012 the generator wouldn't start so I contacted JD Belcher & he made a service call that same day & installed a new starter. Nov 1, 2012 I contacted JD for maintenance service not knowing I had only10 days warranty left. He started the generator & it ran 10 sec. then quit & could never get it to restart. He made several trips working on the generator and talking with Generac to find out what the problem was. He sent them several photos of the inner parts of the motor and generator. After numerous hours of researching the problem, he came to the conclusion that it was a factory defect in the assembly of the generator to the motor causing it to be disalligned. Therefore the bearing went out and was rubbing into the housing causing the motor to no longer run. JD convinced Generac to put in a new motor and generator under warranty with no cost to me.I highly recommend JD, his service & ability is #1
