Established in 1981, Woodland Elementary School enrolls more than 560 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s academic curriculum includes English, math, science and social studies. It offers gifted and talented and physical education programs. Woodland Elementary School provides special education services for students with disabilities. It conducts several after-school programs and organizes a range of extracurricular activities. The school also conducts classes in music, orchestra and band. It operates a parent-teacher association that supports and sponsors a variety of school events and activities. In addition, the school s on-site library offers a range of books, magazines, reference materials and encyclopedias. It is a part of North Thurston Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Woodland Elementary School employs over 60 staff members and is located in Lacey, Wash.
