The Cognac Filet is not on the menu, but you should order it. It is a nice sized filet mignon served in a Warm, mushroom-y cognac sauce. This dish is simply delicious! We always ask for Mary Jane who is the best server that ever lived. She is attentive, and always checking in on you.



The restaurant was just remodeled, and it looks pretty fancy when you walk in, but I suggest casual attire.

The bar has Karaoke which I believe is very popular if you like that kind of thing.

Under new ownership! The service was great. All personnel that waited on our table was friendly and thorough. The food was outstanding. Cooked to our exact order. Plenty of food for a very decent price. We will definitely go back!!!

Valentine's Day!! We actually wanted to go to the Brigantine, across the highway, but they were booked for the night and since we have enjoyed the Charcoal House in the past (3-4 years ago) we decided to try there. We should have got a clue when we saw that half the tables were empty at 7:00 pm. Anyway, we stayed and were seated immediately. After we ordered we noticed that the floor must have had water damage or something since it was ripped up under all the booths and buckled in the middle with tape holding the edges together. Our booth had a hole in the seat. The general appearence of the place screemed HELP. They desparetly need to remodel. The food was good but the waitress (long dark hair) needs major training. Half way through our salads she brought our dinners. Before we were finished with our steaks she asked us if we want any desert. We said no. Then she brought the check - still not finished with our meals. She also brought some lemon slices with sugar as an after dinner treat - looked disgusting. After that, I wrapped up the rest of my steak, in one of their cloth napkins, and we left. You would think that on Valentine's Day a few pieces chocolate would be more appropriate and that just maybe - people would like to take a little more time to finish their meal before being pushed out. It's not like a BIG crowd was waiting. Even more empty when we left.

I would never go back to this restaurant again. It's glory days are gone. It's run down and needs remodeling, new owners, trained staff, or something at least.
