Katherine (Meg) Richman, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who specializes in body imaging, particularly womens body imaging. She performs both hysterosalpingograms (HSG) and sonohysterograms (SHG) to look for causes of womens infertility and gynecological issues, such as bleeding. She also images men and women who have suffered abdominal trauma, and uses radiological techniques to help diagnose gastrointestinal (GI) and genitourinary (GU) problems.Dr. Richman has been chief of Radiology at UC San Diego Healths Thornton Pavilion in La Jolla since 1999. She also leads the radiology services at Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Jacobs Medical Center.Her research focuses on understanding the impact of HSG on fertility. She is interested in improving diagnostic radiology techniques for predicting a womens prognosis for becoming pregnant and carrying a pregnancy to term.Dr. Richman completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in body imaging at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine as well. She is board-certified in diagnostic radiology.She is a member of many professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
