On a recent visit to the Pacific Northwest, I fell upon Nell Thorn Waterfront Bistro & Bar quite by accident. Located on the Swinomish Channel in La Conner, Washington, I stopped in for lunch recently.

Quickly seated by Madison, I advised her that I only had 45 minutes for lunch. Seeking menu suggestions, she mentioned the daily special – a Duck Ramen. And after a fast review of the menu, Duck Ramen it was, along with a glass of water as my beverage.

A colorful presentation with the various ingredients folded together – I never knew that Ramen noodles could be made to taste so good. I finished my entire bowl. But not before I snapped a few photos of my meal.

Great atmosphere, great food, polite and friendly staff, along with a great waterfront location. Watch the parking situation as its customer only, as it should be.

There has to be something said about “farm-to-table” freshness and Nell Thorn Waterfront Bistro met that expectation. I would like to spend more time enjoying what they have to offer and will bring the family back for dinner upon my return to La Conner in the near future.
