South College is a private, coeducational academic institution that was founded in 1882 and is located in Knoxville, Tenn. It offers a wide variety of academic courses, including legal studies, accounting, business administration, hotel management and medical transcription. The college provides various facilities, such as lecture classrooms, computer laboratories, a library, writing lab and parking spaces. Its library has a collection of more than 6,200 volumes, including over 60 periodicals, professional journals and newspapers, general reference works, vertical files, pamphlets, books for recreational reading, and video and audio tapes. Additionally, it provides a variety of student services, such as orientation, counseling, student activities and organizations, career placement, bookstore, housing and transportation. South College offers financial assistance and is approved by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
