Established in 2003, the Armstrong County Jail is a correctional facility that houses more than 180 inmates. It offers supervision, operations and administrative services. The jail additionally provides housing, laundry and food services. It also offers inmates monitoring, reporting, counseling, education, medical and church services. The jail organizes several parenting workshops and meetings for the inmates. It provides various sports and recreational activities. The Armstrong County Jail is a part of Armstrong County, which also operates sheriff, economic development, public safety, fire, probation, human resources, planning and treasurer departments.
